There is Power in My Faith Filled Words

There is Power in My Faith Filled Words

There is Power in My Faith Filled Words

SCRIPTURE READING:

Galatians 5:4-6 MSG
(4) I suspect you would never intend this, but this is what happens.
When you attempt to live by your own religious plans and projects,
you are cut off from Christ, you fall out of grace.
(5) Meanwhile we expectantly wait for a satisfying relationship with the Spirit.
(6) For in Christ, neither our most conscientious religion nor disregard of religion amounts to anything. What matters is something far more interior:
faith expressed in love.

TEXT VERSE:

Galatians 5:6 MSG
For in Christ, neither our most conscientious religion nor disregard of religion amounts to anything. What matters is something far more interior:
faith expressed in love.

Galasiërs 5:6 ANV
In Christus Jesus is dit nie van belang of jy besny is of nie. Al wat van belang is,
is geloof wat deur die liefde tot dade oorgaan.

INTRODUCTION:

If we want to start seeing the power of God manifest in our lives, we will have to start paying attention to what we say. Words have power—more than any of us realize, but we often speak them as though they are meaningless. Jesus certainly understood the power of words, and He used them to change the natural things around Him. God has given His children a new nature, and we are taught to daily renew our mind and attitude and to speak words of life. Having a Godly outlook on life and speaking Godly words based on the Word is one of the most wholesome things we can do. We can only do this if Jesus is living in our hearts. The Word of God is our basic foundation. In order for us to build on this foundation, we must know the Word, work the Word and honor the Word.

KNOW THE WORD:

Hosea 4:6 MSG
My people are ruined because they don’t know what’s right or true. Because you’ve turned your back on knowledge, I’ve turned my back on you priests. Because you refuse to recognize the revelation of God, I’m no longer recognizing your children.

The Word of God, the Bible is the highest form of reality. It is the truth and the truth shall set you free. To know Jesus Christ as your savior is to know the Word of God. You cannot know and understand the spiritual truths of God’s Word
without knowing Jesus.

John 1:1-5 AB
(1) IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
(2) He was present originally with God.
(3) All things were made and came into existence through Him;
and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.
(4) In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.
(5) And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].

John 1:14 AB
And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled
(fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory
(His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father,
full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.

Know Jesus Christ, know the Word of God. Know who you are in Christ Jesus.
To know God is to love Him.

Joshua 1:8 NKJV
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day
and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.
For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Then faith will come…

Romans 10:17 KJV
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Get into the Word of God and the Word will get into you.

The first principle in having powerful words is to know the Word of God.

“There is power in my words: I know the Word of God. I am in the Word of God and the Word is in me. I am a faith builder”

WORK THE WORD:

James 2:14 MSG
Dear friends, do you think you’ll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it?

James 2:17 MSG
Isn’t it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense?

We must obey and do the Word of God.
We must become doers of the Word.
New Year’s resolutions stay resolutions if we don’t do them.

Faith without works is dead…
Love without works is dead…
Faith and love cannot be separated!

Galatians 5:6 NKJV
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything,
but faith working through love.

Faith without love is arrogance.
Why must we become doers of the Word, why must we act in faith?

John 14:15 MSG
“If you love me, show it by doing what I’ve told you.

Work the Word of God and the Word will work for you!

The second principle in having powerful words is to work the Word of God.

“There is power in my words: I work the Word of God and the Word works for me.
I am a doer of the Word because I love the Word, I love Jesus my savior.”

HONOR THE WORD:

John 5:23 NIV
that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father.
Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

We honor God by knowing His Word and doing His Word.
We can only honor God if we fear God.
I am not talking about negative fear, the opposite of faith; I am talking about the fear of the Lord. We must have a revelation of the fear of God.

Today the children of God in the church are sometimes called “Word people”.
We are also called “faith people”, but nobody called us “holy people”.

If we understand and apply this principle, it will change our lives forever!
What is the fear of the Lord?

Proverbs 8:13 GW
To fear the LORD is to hate evil…

Proverbs 8:13 GNB
To honor the LORD is to hate evil…

Proverbs 8:13 MSG
The Fear-of-GOD means hating Evil, whose ways I hate with a passion…

We cannot compromise the Word of God anymore.
How can we say that we are standing in faith and that we love God,
but at the same time we love and have a passion for sin and evil things?

Then we don’t honor God and His Word at all. We do not even respect Him and His Word.
Then we are busy with tradition and religion, coming to church to be seen
or to try and quiet our conscience.

Revelation 3:16 NIV
So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—
I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

1 Peter 1:16 AB
For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.

A simple definition of holiness is: you love what God loves and you hate what God hates.

The fear of the Lord – according to the Webster and Vine – Is to despise,
to greatly dislike, to hate, and to have no tolerance for things that are bad (also morally bad), contemptible, wicked, harmful, wrong (also morally wrong) and worthless.

So, let us test ourselves on a daily basis.
Let us live a lifestyle of fearing God, honoring God, obeying God and of hating evil.

The third principle in having powerful words is to honor the Word
and to honor God.

“There is power in my words: I have a revelation of the fear of the Lord in me. I am an imitator of God; I am holy for He is holy. I hate evil. I honor God in everything I do”

CONCLUSION:

Galatians 5:6 MSG
For in Christ, neither our most conscientious religion nor disregard of religion amounts to anything. What matters is something far more interior:
faith expressed in love.

If you know who you are in Christ Jesus,
you will have the faith of God expressed in the love of God!

If words spoken from a believing heart can change your eternal destination, then isn’t it true that the same would apply to other areas of your life?  If speaking believing words that agree with God’s Word kept me from going to hell, then I have to believe that speaking believing words that agree with God’s Word will keep peace in my marriage, warmth in my home, obedience in my children, health in my body, success in my career etc. God has given us His opinion, His desire, and His plan for every area of our lives in His Word because He loves us.  When you openly confess, with your own lips, what God’s Word says about your life, and you couple it with a believing heart, you release God to move in your life in those areas.

If you want to experience God’s best then you must realize the importance of making your words align and agree with God’s Word.

“There is power in my words: God loves me. I will honor God by knowing His Word and doing His Word. I am in the Word and the Word is in me, it is a lifestyle, a way of living to me. I know who I am in Christ Jesus. I will please God by standing in faith. I will do this because I love God.”
