It is Time!

CRIPTURE READING:
Luke 5:4-7 NKJV
(4) When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon,
“Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
(5) But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night
and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
(6) And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish,
and their net was breaking.
(7)So they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them.
And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
(B) TEXT:
Luke 5:6 AB
And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish;
and as their nets were [at the point of] breaking,
Lukas 5:6 ANV
En toe hulle dit doen, het hulle so ‘n groot klomp vis gevang dat hulle nette wou skeur.
(C) INTRODUCTION:
A very poor woman called a Christian radio station asking for help.
A bad, evil man who was listening to this radio program decided to make something out of it. He got her address, called his secretary and ordered her to buy food and take to the woman with the following instruction: “When the woman asks who sent the food, tell her that it’s from the devil.” When she arrived, the woman was so happy
and she started putting the food inside.
The secretary asked her: “Don’t you want to know who sent you the food?”
The woman answered:
“No, it doesn’t matter, because when GOD orders, even the devil obeys!”
(D) HARD WORK:
Maybe you are sitting here today and you are tired.
You worked so hard, you trusted God but nothing happened.
You tried everything but nothing worked.
We see in our scripture that the disciples had been fishing all night
and had laboured hard. They were fatigued and quite wearied out.
Most discouraging of all, was that their labour was in vain; they had caught nothing.
There are people here today who are in the same situation.
God wants you to get out of this “survival mode” where you just hope,
to get out of this storm alive.
That’s not God’s best for you!
(E) GOD’S WORD:
It’s time for you and me to think bigger than we’ve ever thought before.
Expect God to move on your behalf, He is ready!
Expect mega miracles in your life, it is time for breakthroughs, it is time to move!
Out of every mega storm comes a mega miracle!
Jesus brings hope into every hopeless situation!
You can’t just wish for things to change.
Jesus is with you in your boat!
I’ve got a special Word from God for you this morning.
Just listen to the Word of God for you this morning!…
Is Jesus on your boat this morning? Are you a born again believer?
Did you invite Jesus on your boat?
We read in Luke 5:4 that Jesus was on Simon’s boat.
Jesus said to Simon:
“Push out into deep water and let your nets out for a catch.” (Luke 5:4 MSG)
Jesus is telling you today to try again, to go out into deep water!.
Yes Pastor, but I’m tired. I tried everything…
Don’t Give Up!
An elderly lady was once asked by a young man who had grown weary in the fight, whether he ought to give up the struggle. “I am beaten every time,” he said dolefully.
“I feel I must give up.” “Did you ever notice,” she replied, smiling into the troubled face before her, “that when the Lord told the discouraged fishermen to cast their nets again, it was right in the same old spot where they had been fishing all night and had caught nothing?”
Luke 5:5 NIV
Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything.
But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
This is the first place in the New Testament where the word “Master” occurs.
It is only used by Luke, and he applies it only to our Lord Jesus Christ.
It properly signifies a prefect, or one who is set over certain affairs or persons:
it is used also for an instructor, or teacher.
Master – G1988 “epistates” (Vine’s dict)
“a chief, a commander, overseer master.”
It is used by the disciples in addressing the Lord,
in recognition of His authority rather than His instruction.
The disciples recognised the authority of Jesus in their situation.
They receive the Word that He spoke into their hopeless situation.
They made it final authority.
Luke 5:5 NLT
“Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing.
But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.”
(F) CONCLUSION:
Luke 5:6 NKJV
And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish,
and their net was breaking.
After they invited Jesus on their boat (born again)
After they acknowledged that Jesus is “Master” over their circumstances.
After they heard and obeyed His Word over their situation.
After they put their trust and confidence in Jesus and His Word.
They received in abundance!
In other words, a few hours ago they had nothing, but now they have MEGA.
Just think about it. One moment you have absolutely nothing
and suddenly, you have MEGA. Could you handle that?
You have believed God. You tithe, you give, you work hard and SUDDENLY,
even though it’s been months, the financial breakthrough comes.
You receive your healing, a new job or whatever you need.
One moment you had nothing, and the next moment you have more than enough.
That’s the God we serve. He can take you from nothing to mega.
It is time to recognise the authority of Jesus Christ in your situation!
It is a new season – God wants to move!
Receive the Word that He is speaking into your situation today, now!
Let it be final authority. Now!
1Peter 5:5-7 AB
(5) Likewise, you who are younger and of lesser rank, be subject to the elders
(the ministers and spiritual guides of the church)–[giving them due respect and yielding to their counsel]. Clothe (apron) yourselves, all of you, with humility [as the garb of a servant, so that its covering cannot possibly be stripped from you, with freedom
from pride and arrogance] toward one another.
For God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful,
the presumptuous, the boastful)–[and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats them],
but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble.
(6) Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,
(7) Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries,
all your concerns, once and for all] on Him,
for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
Isaiah 43:18-20 NIV
(18) “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
(19) See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
(20) The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water
in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland,
to give drink to my people, my chosen,
Revelation 3:8 MSG
“I see what you’ve done. Now see what I’ve done.
I’ve opened a door before you that no one can slam shut. You don’t have much strength, I know that; you used what you had to keep my Word.
You didn’t deny me when times were rough.
